For generations, the Shimo prayer tradition has been central to Syrian Christian worship. As younger generations increasingly lived through their phones, a dedicated, well-designed mobile prayer book became essential to preserving that tradition.
The Shimo prayer book holds deep liturgical and cultural significance for the Syrian Christian community. But physical prayer books were inaccessible during travel, at work, or wherever worshippers found themselves outside of home or church.
Existing digital alternatives were poorly designed, full of formatting errors, and offered no search or navigation — failing both the tradition they were meant to serve and the users they were meant to reach.

Techius engineered Shimo Namaskaram as a native Android application, with careful attention paid to liturgical accuracy in content and typography that honoured the traditional layout of the prayer book. Offline functionality meant the app worked without internet connectivity — essential for use in areas with poor coverage.
Navigation was designed around the prayer schedule — morning, evening, and feast day prayers — so worshippers could find what they needed immediately, without scrolling through unrelated content.
